One Last Move...
Sorry peeps, as much as I heart my template here, I'm having much more fun over at Wordpress (which I learned from Charo).

So yes, it's official. Please update your links. I'm moving!

american idol musings
watched american idol earlier (girls’ night, 70’s) and here’s what i think:

1. the guys sang better than the girls this week

2. especially david archuleta. i think his performance is the highlight of the week.
and as i’ve been telling my friend charo in her blog, i think among the ladies, that kady malloy and kristy lee cook need to go.

3. for the guys, i think it should be jason yeager and luke menard, who both happen to be merely pretty faces, but lack talent when compared to the other contestants.

4. and for now, i think that we’ll be seeing a lot of asia’h epperson, syesha mercado, ramiele malubay(who’ll gather a lot of votes from the filipino community), carly smithson, michael johns and david archuleta since i think these are the people who’ll be lingering around for the next few weeks.

5. rock-and-roll nurse impressed people nung first few episodes, pero medyo nakakasawa na siyang pakinggan. and besides, last week, she got included sa bottom three.

well, we’ll just hafta wait til tomorrow. :)

the doc's orders
i saw a doctor earlier because i've been sick with asthma for weeks. when i say weeks, i'm not just talking 2 weeks, i think i'm hitting the 4th week mark by friday. i get an attack of coughing episodes during the night (starts roughly about 9p.m.) and lasts til the wee hours of the morning. it's the non-productive kind (dry) which makes it even more painful for me whenever i cough. masakit sobra sa dibdib.

anyway, as mentioned earlier, i did see a doctor and he did confirm to me that i was having an asthma attack. and with that he prescribed a couple of meds, one of em being this new drug which is supposedly not to contain any steroids this time. and also, he produced a list of no-no's for me which included the ff:

1. CHOCOLATES or anything with chocolate flavors (sniff! but then again, i knew this since i was young)
2. chicken and any dish with chicken in it
3. eggs and any egg products or dishes
4. milk and any milk-containing foods like cheese, creams, etc.
5. greasy foods such as french fries, any FRIED FOODS for that matter
6. spices like petter, hot sauce and other spicy foods
7. shelled seafoods like crabs, shrimp, lobsters (which i'm DEATHLY allergic to anyway), anchovies or bagoong (and it's a good thing i'm not fond of bagoong)
8. fish sauce or patis-flavored foods as well as soy sauce
9. hot dogs, tocino, and sausages (there goes my breakfast!)
10. softdrinks (what?!)
11. peanuts, potato chips, cheese curls (just when i found out that Planters Cheez Balls are back!)

how convenient. basically, it's a subtle way of telling me to starve myself while i have asthma because majority of my food preferences refer to the foods listed above. and anyone who knows me would also know for a fact that i loooooove spicy food. i'll basically put pepper and/or hot sauce on anything that can be eaten with them. tsk tsk.

and as for the additional orders:

1. BED REST
2. drink lots of fresh fruit juices and water (artificial grape juice doesn't count)
3. avoid physical exertion/exhaustion, extreme temperatures like TOO HOT (good luck sa summer) or too cold
4. avoid sweating and change to dry shirts immediately
5. avoid any strong odorous chemicals (good luck sa rebonded hair!) in the form of sprays, wax, lotion, and PERFUME (noooo!)
6. avoid strong detergent, bleach, and softeners like Downy
7. stay away from animal dander like dogs, cats, and birds (hello buuucherz!)
8. clean your cupboards from dust, roach, and rat droppings
9. air your rooms and change linens, sheets, and pillow cases every week
10. if your pillows are old, change them
11. for new pillows and mattress, encase them in plastic bags
12. do not keep moist towels, shirts, linens, and sheets in your roomto prevent fungal growth
13. avoid too crowded places and SMOKERS (thankfully, i've kicked the habit!)

anyway, there you go. fellow asthmatiques, yan ang batas. hehe. so anyway, i'm just sharing this so that if you're asthmatic like i am, you could go on and have a wheeze-free summer. i mean yes, we can't do anything about the DAMN HEAT but we can prevent attacks i suppose by lessening the exposure to the other irritants. :)

Six Weird Things About Me
Okay, first of all, I can't tag six people because at present, only a few know about my blog. But I am posting this because it's pretty interesting.

1. I cannot drive without a clock with the correct time (yes, orasan) staring back at me.

2. If I want to sleep deepy, my head for some reason has to be on the foot of the bed, lying on my side, facing left.

3. Whenever I eat pizza a few mins/hours before going to bed, I usually end up having nightmares (never fails).

4. I eat Purefoods Corned Beef with Laing (Not mixed in though, served separately), and the idea just grosses out a lot of people, but believe it or not, it's actually GREAT.

5. Nothing new with applying toothpaste on your toothbrush by pushing the toothpaste upwards from the end of the tube, right? But what makes me weird, is that I become compulsive by wanting to do this also whenever using somebody else's bathroom and detect that their toothpaste has been squeezed in the middle of the tube.

6. I had an original entry for the 6th but it was too morbid. So if you find my sixth entry lame, think TONED DOWN... I've fallen asleep while watching The Matrix, Fifth Element, Lord of the Rings (Fellowship of the Ring), action sequence of Transformers, during my first time to watch The Prestige, Die Hard 4.0, to name a few... Yes, I fall asleep even during the exciting scenes of a good movie. (But I don't have narcolepsy ok.)

What are yours? By the way, rules are, after posting, simply tag 6 people to post six weird things about themselves.

The Family Jewels

My cousin acquired this adorable little doll a few months ago. We used to call him "Blondie" but now, he goes by "John Nelson". He's really amused everyone because he's a rather large doll.

Upon seeing him, you would already figure out that he's male. And as if that weren't enough, lately, my cousin made a hilarious discovery... that beneath his denim trousers, he possesses parts to justify his masculinity. Usually, for other dolls, what they have is just a flat space on that area... but not with our John Nelson!

And the logo on his red wifebeater says that YOU'RE SPECIAL, when in reality, it is really him, who is. ;)

Saw Die Hard 4.0 The Other Day...
No, i don't intend on writing a review of the movie. Not because I don't like doing it... More of because I wasn't able to understand the movie at all.

My cousin and I caught the 2pm screening. Fifteen minutes into the movie, and my cousin and I were both asleep. Yes, about 1/2 of the movie, I was asleep... and with the remaining time I had to appreciate it, well half the time was spent getting food and going to the ladies' room.

Sad. I bet Die Hard would have been greater than I give it credit for. But the movie I watched before this was Transformers (2007), and c'mon, that is a fantastic movie. And so maybe my expectations became too much for this next one I saw (but to be honest, the other Die Hard movies didn't exactly rock my world either).

So basically, my cousin and I just blew off a few bucks to take a nap inside the cinema... Something which we could have done at home in the first place. Oh well, at least we got to go out. And besides, at least that movie jolted my expectations back to normal. This way, I could probably enjoy Ratatouille, the next movie I'm planning to see.
